In Case of Emergency.
| Help out in a crisis with ICE | | The simplest ideas are usually the best and this one is no exception. For just a few seconds think about being involved in a crisis situation. Then think about the emergency services wondering who you are. Then ask yourself "Who would I like the emergency services to call"?. Recent events have shown how difficult it is to identify people caught up in a crisis situation. This applies to people who survive but are unable to provide details either through injury or shock. By spending just a few seconds with the phone book on your mobile you can ensure that the right person is contacted and it's simple. Just enter the acronym ICE into your mobile phone with the name and number of your contact. The idea follows research carried out by Vodafone that shows more than 75 per cent of people carry no details of who they would like telephoned following a serious accident. This allows the emergency services to contact the person you would wish them to contact. While you may have names and numbers already in your phone, these may not be the people you would want contacted. However ICE allows the services to contact that person knowing that this is your wish. |
