WHAT IS A COMMUNITY COUNCIL?
Community Councils work with the local authority and other public bodies to determine, co-ordinate and express the views of the community it represents.
Why have a Community Council?
The establishment and continuation of a Community Council in your area offers you an opportunity to play an important role in promoting the well being of the neighbourhood you live in, develop community spirit and inform the residents in the area you represent of matters of public concern.

The Community Council areas are as follows:

How can you become involved?
To be eligible to stand as a candidate in a Community Council election, you must:-
• Appear on the electoral roll;
• Be 16 years of age or over;
• Be resident in the Community Council area you wish to stand for;
• Not be subject to any legal incapacity (further details available on request).
