Alloa today does not look that different from Alloa of the past.  When you look at old photographs of Alloa, you can still recognise it from the Alloa of today.  The only change is Alloa shops and supermarkets.

Alloa Town has 5 supermarkets.  (Morrison’s, Tesco’s, Lidl, Aldi and Asda).  This is probably one of the main reasons why the Town Centre is struggling today together with the lack of Support and Improvements from Clackmannanshire Council.  A lot of the old individual shops have disappeared.

At one time Alloa Town Centre was a bustling centre, where you could not move around the Town Centre.  Today, you see very little people in the Town and can move freely around.  It is a sad sight!

Recently, the introduction of the New Railway link and Station brought some much needed improvement to the town, but a lot more still needs done.

Alloa also supports the Sheriff f Court and local churches (Moncrieff UF Church, St Mungo’s RC Church.
