Ashmanworth Village Hall - Appeal Fund
Ashmansworth Village Hall Appeal Fund HistoryThe village hall was built in 1951 by local residents and has provided a place for social gatherings, village parties and family celebrations. It continues to be used for many social events including Burns' Night Supper and Harvest Lunch. The hall now needs some major work in order for it continue to serve the village fro another 50 plus years. Modernisation ProgrammeIn November 2005 a Coffee Morning was held and the committee set out proposals for a re-furbished Village Hall. The meeting was well attended and the drawings and ideas were well received. The next stage is to get formal plans drawn up, with estimates, in order to begin seeking funds and grants to support the work. By May 2006 Helen Skinner, Chair, was able to report at the AGM that £1,500 has already been raised by kind donations. DonationsIf you are able to help us with a donation to get this project started ? and completed! Please contact Mike Sarson, Treasurer Pheasant Cottage, Ashmansworth. RG20 9SJ or mail him at mikesarson@yahoo.com As a charity we are also able to claim tax back so for every £2 donated we raise almost £3! Social and fundraising EventsDuring 2006/7 we plan to run many social and fundraising events and apply for grants so that we can raise sufficient funds for a building which will bring benefits to our village and of which we can be proud. If you need more information on the proposals or wish to see the plans, please do contact Helen Skinner, Chair - helen.skinner2@btopenworld.com or Jackie Seaton - jackie@sosoffice.orangehome.co.uk - tel. 01635 254585
