We hope you have already enjoyed the 'pen' picture of our Parish and community on the "Awliscombe Past" and "Awliscombe Present" pages.
The aims of this site are to:
- provide a communication between the Parish Council and the community
- give local community groups, organisations and societies an opportunity to tell others about themselves
- provide the community and visitors with access to information on local services, the local area and how to contact the relevant people
- provide a free directory list for local businesses, or for a small charge an enhanced entry with links to their own web space or advertisement
- enable links to other sites of possible interest to the community
- give details of local news, community events
- provide a forum to feedback on issues affecting our parish.
You can already see links down the left hand side:
'Web Pages' are information sheets relevant to our Parish or this website.
'Useful links' provides access to websites of both relevant and of a more general interest to the Community.
In the centre of the page:
'Your local Parish Council'. Access to Parish Council Information, dates of future meetings, Councillors, minutes of past Council meeting, Agendas for future meetings and the current status of our Parish Action Plan.
Make a note of Planning Application numbers (from the minutes), and follow the link 'Planning Applications' to see the plans online at the District Council. A feedback forum to the Parish Council will hopefully be added at a later date.
'Local Community News' is current breaking news or information with a limited life.
'Diary & Events' are listings of all Awliscombe events notified to this website.
'Groups, Clubs, Teams & Societies' are local non-profit making groups with their own web pages who have linked to this website (contact the administrator if you want to know how to get your own website pages)
Click on the toolbar headings at the top of the page to see:
Diary: A list of Community activities
Business: A free simple directory listing of local businesses and contacts.
An enhanced directory listing with a link to an e-mail address, or a website or advertisement can be purchased at a modest price.
Groups: These are non-profit making community groups and societies who have linked to this site. They can list their programmes, meeting or games reports, league positions, membership details and contacts for more information.
This guide will be updated as more information is added to the website.
