One of Beaford's most felicitous assets must be the monthly Coffee Morning. The first Saturday of each month gathers a roomful of villagers - everyone is welcome. A cup of coffee or tea with biscuits comes amazingly cheaply but if pockets are not deep or beverages not drunk still the welcome is warm. People meet and chat with old friends, newcomers or "strangers from the other end of Beaford" so that month by month one's acquaintance is spread further afield. News and views are passed around. Started by a group of community-minded people, the Women's Institute and then the ever helpful Heard family have run the Morning with great good humour. Our thanks for such an asset. Do come along.
