  Topic of the month

I didn't know the Harvest meal / the Ravilious show was happening."  "I don't read the Bugle."  "I skip and throw."   These are some of the comments heard recently so here is a résumé. The show of photographs and film were magical - local personalities were greeted and wonderful Devon scenes were so full of recognition and nostalgia - shall we ever see their like again?   The film combined a bit of everything to do with our village life and it is good to hear that DVD copies can be ordered.  The Harvest Lunch was fun with delicious food in quantities, which "spoilt the appetite".  The auction of produce, which followed the meal, was fast and furious, full of banter and generosity.  Those who do not read the Bugle should feel a Health Warning coming on - partaking of life is a great tonic

      Harvest Luncheon

The community once again owe many thanks to Anita and her band of helpers, in particular the young waiters, waitresses and washers-up, who made this year's event so successful and enjoyable.  Anita in turn would like to thank everyone who made donations of food and money.

The Church, Chapel and Village Hall will each receive £102.33 from the profit made.

Fields of Vision

A new exhibition of James Ravilious Photographs together with the premiere of a biographical film about his work by local filmmaker, Anson Hartford, was one of Beaford Arts 40th year special events held in the village hall.  A DVD of the film is available and may be ordered by contacting Anson at Canns Down Press.

Bus Timetable - A new timetable taking effect from 1st October 06, for services 50, 51 and 315, is now on display at the newly painted bus shelter.

Louise Dunn - Would like to thank her helpers and all who supported the recent cream tea she served at the Beaford Arts Centre, which raised £200 for St George and All Saints.
