Belton-in-Rutland is a small parish on the Rutland : Leicestershire border. It has around 150 houses and a population of just over 300, and is surrounded by countryside designated as particularly attractive in the Rutland Local Plan.
Belton has a vibrant village pub, The Sun Inn, a very successful pre-school with excellent OFSTED report and a number of small business are run from within it.
The community is actively involved in making Belton a great place to live. In 2001 a Village Appraisal was completed and a number of clubs and groups have been formed from it. There is currently a Village Design Statement being put together which will ensure Belton retains its charm as it develops in years to come. In 2003 Belton was proud to win the Rutland Tidy Village Award (Small Village Category) and to win the Young Peoples prize in the Calor Village of the Year competition.
