MINUTES 10 January 2007

•1.                   A meeting of the Parish Council took place on Wednesday 10th January 2007 at 8.00 p.m. in Bridgerule Parish Hall.


•2.                   Present:- Councillors G. Abbott (Chairman), R. Yendell  A. Beat,  K. James, J. Martyn, M. Lucas, J. Giles, G. Bowler, and P. Dymond  Mrs L. Packer Clerk and RFO.   


•3.                   Adoption of the Minutes:- The Minutes of the meeting held on 22nd November 2006 having been circulated prior to the meeting were adopted and duly signed.


•4.                   Declaration of Interests: - None declared.


•5.                   Public Question Time:-  No matters raised


•6.                   Casual Vacancy: - No applicants had come forward.


•7.                   Playground:- The Chairman reported upon an informal exploratory meeting with Mrs Peshke and Paul Bowler. The possibilities for a skate board ramp in the area of the Playing Field and other ideas for suitable play equipment on the Village Hall site were explored.


•8.                    Parish Hall: - The Chairman reported upon structural and electrical problems with the Hall and the urgent need to progress with another application to Torridge District Council for a new Hall. Mr Pinny had not had any success in finding a Developer willing to take on the redevelopment of the site and Village Hall Project. The Solicitor to be reminded to progress the Charity registration as Grant Funding will be difficult to achieve if this is not in place.


•9.                  Planning:-

1/2426/2006 Norton Farm, Bridgerule, Erection of new bungalow.  Approval Recommended.

1/2454/2006/FUL Bude DIY Ltd. Bridgerule Industrial Estate, Erection of building for A1/B8 use, provision of replacement septic Tank and additional parking   . Approval Recommended.

1/2577/2006/FUL Bella Vista, Bridgerule: Additional bedroom, alterations to existing bedrooms and erection of conservatory.                                           Approval Recommended.

1/2627/2006/FUL Knowle Farm, Marhamchurch, Amendments to previously approved application ref. 1/1647/2006/FUL                                                 Approval Recommended.


•10.               General Correspondence:- Correspondence received to date was presented including;-

Countryside Alliance campaign to support local post offices.

Community Council of Devon Community Planning Database Questionnaire

North Tamar Community transport Association - Ring and Ride Bus Service timetable.

Torridge DC Holsworthy Area Advisory Group

•11.              Highways

The mains water leak at Roly Poly Bridge had been repaired.

The surface condition of the road between the Post Office and Newacott Cross is becoming very poor.


•12.              Village Clean Up

General untidiness in the Village was raised. The Chairman will organise volunteers to undertake a cleaning up session.


•13.              Date of next meeting The date for the next meeting was set for Wednesday 7th March 2007.
