Welcome to the site for the Central Milton Keynes Parish Council.

The parish is one of the smallest within Milton Keynes, with currently only 1,000 residents. But, the area covered by the parish, from the station to Campbell Park is the most vibrant and unique parish in the city.

The development soon to take place at the 'Residential Quarter' will increase the council's electorate substantially.

Because the city centre is pivotal to the way in which MK is seen by those visiting as well as the residents and workers the role of CMK parish council takes on a much greater importance than its size would normally suggest.

The role of this parish council is very different to that of many outlying parishes, being more involved in the planning of the city for the future. Having a voice on the CMK Board and CMK Partnership enables residents' comments about plans for the parish to be heard at the highest level.

The parish council has developed an action plan, which you can find on this site, which reflects the issues that the parish council feel require focus. If you would like to suggest other issues to be championed, simply let us know.

We publish a newsletter regularly which is distributed to all residents and are always seeking items for inclusion. If you have an issue you want aired in the newsletter, let us know.

The next few years will see massive changes to the parish, and it is important that your parish council continues to challenge plans where they do not consider the needs of the residents, whilst also supporting the type of development which will really add value to the parish. As the hub of the city and the central focus for business, residents and visitors it is the view of the parish council that much more needs to be done to give the centre a heart. It will work with MKCouncil and English Partnerships to ensure that this is not only addressed in future plans, but in a manner sympathetic to the residents both current and future of this community.
