County & District Councillors

There has been some confusion since the May elections as to who represents us.  The area has two local councillors, our newly elected County Councillor is Andrew Davis [Conservative] representing Warminster East Ward which includes Codford and the villages covered in the Ashton Gifford News.  This is the first time the villages have been included with the town, prior to this two County Councillors represented one urban and one rural ward. Joan Main was the Warminster East County councillor for the town and Fleur de Rhe Phillipe represented a group of villages now divided between the urban wards of Warminster and Westbury.

Our District Councillor in his third term for the Mid Wylye Valley is still Christopher Newbury [Independent], recently re-elected as Chairman of the  WWDC Planning Committee.

Andrew and Christopher are both County and District Councillors but the District and the County Wards are separate entities with different responsibilities.   We are very fortunate to have two such dedicated and able councillors acting on our behalf.
