Cranage PC - a Quality Parish Council
Cranage Parish Council is one of the first in Cheshire to become a Quality Parish Council. Quality status is awarded only if several stringent standards in areas of management, financial control, communication etc. are achieved and maintained. The Parish Council strives to maintain and improve Cranage for residents and visitors alike, it meets ten times a year in the Village Hall and parish residents are welcome to sit in and to contribute to the public forum at the start of each meeting. The meeting dates for the 2009 and part of 2010 council year are listed below. An annual Parish meeting takes place, usually in March, at which a speaker is invited to give a presentation on a current topic of interest and Cranage taxpayers have the opportunity to discuss with the council any matters that concern them. The Parish Council meets on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 in Cranage Village Hall. The meeting dates for 2009 and the early part of 2010 are as follows: 16th June, 14th July, 22nd September, 13th October, 1st December, 26th January Each meeting starts with a public forum in which you can come along and ask questions or raise issues of concern. The agenda for each meeting is posted up on the website and on the notice boards a few days before each meeting. Four times a year the Council prepares a newsletter and copies are displayed on the noticeboards, one on Northwich Road, one outside the Village Hall and one on Needham Drive. Once a year a copy is delivered to every house in the Parish. None of the members of the Council are paid, the Parish Councillors do the work to help the local community and to protect its interests as far as possible.
