Hello and a warm welcome, you have arrived at the website for Cranage village. If you already live here you will know that Cranage is a lovely place and we have set up the website to help everyone enjoy living here and to encourage community spirit and cohesion. There is quite a lot happening and the website will help you to keep up to date. Often people say "Oh I didn't know about that" so hopefully they will now. Potential visitors to the area may not know that Cranage is situated in the centre of rural Cheshire and although it is surrounded by farmland, junction 18 on the M6 is only 4 miles away, Manchester International Airport is about 35 minutes drive away and there is a rail link from nearby Holmes Chapel to the airport and to Crewe main line station. There are no shops or pubs in Cranage, but only 1 mile or so away and just across the river Dane is the village of Holmes Chapel with many shops, several nice pubs, junior and secondary schools and an excellent health centre. The village hall, which has just been extended, is well used by the Playgroup, the Art Club and the Bridge Club with regular whist drives and specialist events, including wine tasting evenings which are often over subscribed. The area around Cranage is a ramblers' delight with many public footpaths through pretty countryside which is fairly level, and there's not many things nicer than a walk or a bicycle ride around the quiet leafy lanes on a sunny day. The following pages will tell you lots more about Cranage. If you live here you will find lots of information about what's going on, if you are visiting the area the website should help you to plan your stay, which we are sure you will enjoy. To find out what's on, just click on the diary button at the top left corner of this page then click on whatever event catches your eye.
