COMMUNITY PRIZE BINGO! Dyffryn Clydach Memorial Hall,Longford. Doors open at 6.30pm every Friday night with eyes down at 7.00pm prompt with our caller Cllr. Gwyn Edwards.There are always brilliant prizes and lots of excitement with free tea, squash and biscuits for all. Children are welcome too. THE HELPING HANDS KNITTERS- is a brand new group whose first meeting taking place on 29th June 2007at the Memorial Hall. We will meet from 12-3pm alternate Thursdays and everyone of any age or ability is invited to take part in large charity projects in the uk and abroad. There will be light refreshements and a chance to knit and knatter with advice and lessons from experienced craftspeople. If you are new to the area it will be a great way to meet your neighbours and new friends. Those of you who took part in the Dyffryn Clydach Knitathon will know how much fun you can have with a ball of wool. If you can't make it but would like to donate wool or needles then ring Cllr. Alyson Thomas on 01792528754. DYFFRYN CLYDACH ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP meets monthly in the Memorial Hall and holds working parties on the first Thursday of every month with other community groups. If you would like to get fit and enjoy our environment then please ring Cllr. Margaret Smith on 01792 427915 Mother's Union- is now meeting at the Dunstan Hall on Bethlehem Rd. NEATH ABBEY WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.meets at the Dunstan Memorial Hall on the last Thursday of each month. This group of almost two dozen members is very active in fundraising locally and internationally and area always keen to welcome new members. LONGFORD PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP Every Wednesday and Friday morning you can find us here in the Memorial Hall, Longford. We start at 9.15am and finish at 11.15 and as well as weekly fun and companionship we have arts and crafts sessions and seasonal parties. On average between 15 and 20 children attend the group with ages ranging between 0 and 3. It costs just £2 for an adult with one child with an extra 50p payable for additional children. Free tea, toast, squash and biccies for all so don't be shy, just drop in or contact Alexis Collison on 07709227199
DYFFRYN CLYDACH NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH- is a long established group of residents reflecting all areas of our community who meet to seek solutions and share advice on home and community safety. They meet regularly on the 2nd Monday of most months at 7.00pm at the committee room, Memorial Hall , Longford and quarterly with Afan Tawe Nedd Neighbourhood Watch Assoc. in the Civic Centre, Neath. LONGFORD GARDENING CLUB- sells discounted garden supplies from the garage compound off Heol Penlan and is open on Sundays between 10.30M and 12.30am. LONGFORD KEIZEN DO WADOKAI KARATE CLUB The club meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening between 7 and 9pm at the Memorial Hall, Longford . The class has an emphasis on health and fitness and self-defence and is a progressive grading sport. Our members can begin at any age from five years and up and all classes are of mixed ability from beginner to advanced level. We have attendance of between 12 and 20 students at each session for which the fees are £3.00 per child and £3.50 per adult. The head coach is Mr. Martin Hughes, 4th Dan, who can be contacted on 07979970125. WELSH CLASSES - LONGFORD MEMORIAL HALL AUTUMN TERM 2007 There will be a WLPAN course for complete beginners which will be held from 1pm to 3pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Registration for this course will be on Thursday 20th September from1.00pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn Welsh and it is right here in the heart of our community.
