EAST TYTHERLEY PARISH COUNCIL ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 19TH JANUARY 2004 - Members present: Mr. A. Robins, Mrs. S. James, Mr. P. Redshaw, plus two members of the public. Apologies received from Mr. P. Paddock.
- Previous Minutes: The previous minutes have been circulated, read and signed as a correct record.
- Matters Arising: Street signing - A letter has been sent to TVBC, to propose that they visit the parish, to discuss street signing. We are still to find out what the main road is called. We have written to Councillor N. Whitley, about the dumping of human sewage in East Tytherley, two years ago and West Tytherley last year. To wait and see what the response is. TVBC had no knowledge and have no say in the matter.
- Planning Applications: 1 Manor Road - Building of granny annex. No objection from the parish council and has now been passed. The Star Inn - additional accommodation, two storey building with four rooms and storage. (Total B&B rooms of 7). Possible objection from neighbours, because it is two-storey.
- Precept: Last years precept was £800. Proposed precept for 2004/2005 to be £850, all agreed, unless we have to calculate for election costs. To know for definite on 22.01.04.
- Parish Councillor Vacancy; Due to the sad passing of Mrs. D. Barrett, notices have been posted for the position of parish councillor. So far, we have had interest from two possible candidates, Mr. Michael Scoones and Mr. L. Weston. Letters of registration have been received by the Clerk. To see if there is any other interest. If not, the two candidates will be interviewed.
- Correspondence; A brochure about street lighting - Mr. Robins to read the information.
- AOB; Sign post - No one has come out to repair it yet. As it is cast iron, HCC are looking for a company to cast a new one. ?T Junction? to Broughton - rain causes stones on the road and flooding. Edging is needed. Drains need cleaning out again; apparently drain on corner is not on their list. Mr. Robins to contact. Also road by the church is a problem. Salt on roads - the roads by the village hall was extremely bad. Are they being treated? Should we contact HCC again, although some small roads are being treated. Horse riders on Footpath - horse riders are still using the footpaths and completely ignoring the sign. Could a stile possibly be put by the garages? Mr. Robins to contact HCC.
- Next Meeting; The next meeting will be held on Monday 8th March, 2004. The village hall at 6.30pm. This meeting will be to appoint officers.
