EAST TYTHERLEY PARISH COUNCIL ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 14TH MAY 2007 - Apologies: None. Members Present: Mr. S. Brigdale, Mrs. S. James, Mr. J. Monro, Mr. T. Robines and Mr. M. Scoones. Mr. M. Woodhall county councillor.
- Minutes of meeting held 5th February 2007: The previous minutes have been circulated, read and signed as a correct record.
- Matters Arising: Oaklands farm have submitted a second retrospective planning application to TVBC which is awaiting a decision. The Council take a neutral view on this due to the building have grade 2 listing status.
- Declaration of Interest: Forms have been handed out to all councillors to be signed and returned to the Clerk before or at the next ordinary meeting.
- Planning Applications: Red Cottage: Extension on the side of the building. Mr. Robins and Mr. Scoones to visit and look at the application. Mr. Robins feels it is straight forward. Mill Cottage requires a re-thatch and changes to three windows from dormer to eyebrow design. Mr. Robins and Mr. Scoones to visit and look at the application. Mr. Robins feels it is straight forward.
- Dun Valley Development Plan Review: Mr. Robins gave an explanation to the new councillors about this plan and East Tytherley's views. That it was to look to the future and covered sustainability of East Tytherley and adjacent parishes in connection with housing, schools, transport and shops.
- Proposed Play and Community Area: Mr. Robins gave an explanation to the new councillors about the plan for the proposed play and community area. The Council is for this play area in principle, however a formal decision on the Councils involvement is to be decided in the future. No further update, but the Friends of East Tytherley are still looking for funding. Mr. Robins asked Mr. Woodhall about possible grants for the Play Area. Mr, Woodhall asked if there is a sufficient need for it within the parish, Mr. Robins answered that there was. Mr. Woodhall asked if there was to be a skate ramp, Mr. Robins answered that it would be for young children and no skate ramp is planned for at the moment. Mr. Woodhall asked about the proposed location of the play area and if there would be any parking facilities, Mr. Robins answered that the proposed play area would be next to the Church and the Church car park would be used. Mr. Woodhall asked if we had any competitive quotes yet, Mr. Robins answered that the Friends of East Tytherley had received quotes. Mr. Woodhall said that he might be able to help in the funding of the play area. Mr. Woodhall asked if Mr. Neville Whitely (Dun Valley Ward Councillor for Test Valley Borough Council) had been contacted, Mr. Robins answered yes but not in an official capacity.
- Correspondence: None.
- Any Other Business: Flooding in Queenwood: Mr. Robins has been told there is something in the system to be worked on in reference to the flooding in Queenwood. Mr. Woodhall knows it is being looked at but knows nothing further and that a Mr. A Milman is looking at it. Mr. Robins has been dealing with a Mr. Walsh (regional engineer for highways) from Hampshire County Council on this issue. Mr. Woodhall to contact the area surveyor in the next 24 hours to discuss.
