Kaikoura

Kaikoura was probably my favourite place in New Zealand and we were lucky enough to go there twice whilst we were travelling around.  We met up with some fantastic people there in what I thought was the best hostel in New Zealand and also had the best name.  The hostel was called ‘The Lazy Shag’ – a shag being a type of bird in New Zealand. 

Kaikoura was soo nice because you were could see the mountains one side and then the sea the other side.  Plus whilst we were there it was really really hot which just made it such an amazing place.

Overall we spent 5 nights there and I loved every one of them.  It was a great place to relax and we did just that, lying in the sun and doing some long walks to see some seals at the seal colony (about 3miles away from the hostel).

We did however do some activities whilst we were there.  We went Whale watching and we also swam with some dolphins which have there own pages on this site.
