Garrowhill Station Green Fingers
Under First ScotRail's Adopt A Station scheme, Garrowhill Community Council recently adopted our station. We have just planted some spring flowering bulbs and flowers with the aim of making the station a brighter and more cheery place. We see this as a starting point and something that we would like to develop further. Community Councillor Katrina Kirkpatrick and daughter Fiona, along with Community Councillor Ian Neilson and daughter Charlotte enjoyed the hour and a half spent at the station on Saturday 29th September. We were aided by the many people who commented on the fact that the flowers really did make the station look brighter and who were already enjoying seeing them. As you will see the station infrastructue at the moment isn't exactly easy on the eye, but hopefully the plants will detract from the negatives and brighten the place up.

Hopefully these flowers will survive the winter and we will be rewarded with a blaze of daffies and crocus in early Spring. First ScotRail are very supportive of our efforts and we are planning to plant up flower barrels in the station. If you would like to help out in any way, please contact Katrina on 573 0938.
