New Kerbside Recycling Scheme for Warrington

A NEW kerbside collection service, right to your home is set to boost the town's recycling rate.

And it will make it even easier for residents to recycle more.

The new service, to be launched in September, will replace the current five weekly, blue bin kerbside collection service with a two-week service for recyclable materials including paper and envelopes.

The materials that will be collected will include cans, card, plastic bottles, glass and paper.

The improved service will be rolled out to all households in the borough. Residents will receive information about the new bins and collection dates nearer the time.

Alternative facilities are currently being considered for flats and apartment blocks with difficult access.

This new service is in addition to your weekly black bin and fortnightly green bin collection.

Warrington's current recycling rate is around 32% and this service is just one of the schemes that will be used to help Warrington reach its target rate of 40% by 2010.
