Change of Chairman for Great Sankey Parish Council, May 2009 Wednesday 13th May 2009 saw the Annual General Meeting of Great Sankey Parish Council, and Cllr Keith Gleave was voted in unanimously as Chairman for the next year. He thanked and paid tribute to Cllr Alan Litton, the outgoing Chairman, as he said Cllr Litton had done wonders in the past 12 months and he hopes he can continue in the same way.
Cllr Litton said he felt it had been a tremendous year, and he was particularly pleased that the Parish Council had been able to engage so well with local people in recent months. He thanked the members of the public who were at the meeting for their interest and said he hoped they would continue to remain involved. Cllr Jim Regan was voted in as the Deputy Chairman for the year. He also took over the Chair of the Parish Finance Committee from Cllr Gleave, who stood down from that office after a number of years in the post. Smith, Cllr T Wood Youth Projects Group Cllr R. Smith, Cllr L Smith Councillors are always keen to hear your views - you can get in touch by calling a Councillor or coming to a meeting. Parish Council meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month (except August) at Tim Parry Community Centre at 7:00pm, and Finance Committee meetings are held the week before the Parish Council meeting (Tuesday)at Whittle Hall Community Centre at 7:30pm. Agendas are posted on the Parish noticeboards located outside Whittle Hall Community Centre, in the Tim Parry Recreation Ground near the Wroxham Road entrance and at Hood Manor near the Spar shop. You can find contact details for your local Councillor by clicking on their name below. Alternatively, any questions or queries you may have can be sent via the Parish Clerk, Mrs Wakefield, at the Parish Office, Whittle Hall Community Centre, Lonsdale Close, Mon-Fri 9:30am to 1:30pm, or telephone 01925 712279. If possible, staff at the office will try to answer your questions for you. If it is a matter that needs to be put to the Council, they will let you know and do so on your behalf. All the Parish Council staff work part-time, and whilst they endeavor to deal with requests as quickly as possible, please be aware that they are not always able to give an immediate response.
