The Parish Council & Planning Authority

Heath Hayes & Wimblebury Parish Council

The Council was created in 1985 and there are 13 Councillors representing four wards (New Heath Hayes, Old Heath Hayes, Hawks Green and Wimblebury). The last elections were held in May 2007 and the next are due for May 2011.

The Parish Council is administered from the home of the Clerk, Ray Smythe at 12 Thistledown Drive, Heath Hayes, WS12 3XW and he can be contacted on 01543-450635 or by email to raysmythe@msn.com

The Parish Council assists and funds two community facilities that are registered charities, Heath Hayes Cabin and Hayes Green Community Centre. Both are used by local groups.

Cannock Chase District Council

The District Council is the planning authority, but the Parish Council is a statutory consultee and comments on all planning applications.

The District Council runs training sessions on planning law which the Clerk and Councillors are able to attend.

There has been a lot of development in the area over the last 20 years, with the majority being residential.
