Community Song - All Together Now!
We are grateful to Paul Houlton for allowing us to publish his lyric, sung to the tune of Yesterday, which was so well received by a packed house at the Markbeech Cabaret Supper on 1st July, 2006. We hope to put a recording on site, but only when we have mastered how to do it! Congratulations to all those who made the evening so memorable.
BAA I wish your wretched planes would go away So many flew straight over me today That's why I'm angry BAA
Can't you see? You have taken my tranquillity A quiet day is now a luxury Yes, BAA's affecting me
Why you fly so low, I don't know, you will not say But your aircraft soar and the roar drives me away So I say
Anyway It seems the dirt and noise are here to stay When I complain, you simply turn away You don't care, do you BAA?
It seems so unfair, it's our air and they're our skies With each breath I take how I ache to make you wise - er, wiser
Everyday I feel such a need to get away A calm and peaceful foreign hideaway You can't lose, damn you BAA!
