HOLT NETBALL CLUB
Introduction:
Holt Netball Club was started in February 2001 by two ladies from the village. Since that date it has gone from strength to strength and now boasts three regular teams in Wiltshire's Moonraker Netball League. Both our 'A' and 'B' teams play in division 1 and our 'C' team will play in division 3. We provide the opportunity for women of all ages to practise the sport of netball, both for recreational and competitive purposes. The playing and competitive side of netball is extremely important to us - we strive to be the best, whilst having fun doing it! Netball is more than a game - it is also about making friends, sharing joys and concerns, celebrating each other's wins and more often than not losses! We build bonds of friendship with each other that support us both on and off the court.

Training Sessions: Training is on Tuesday evenings from 7.00-8.30 pm at the Holt Sports Court. Each session consists of a warm up, 30 minutes fitness exercises, ball skills and exercises and then match play.
Club Colours:
Black and turquoise blue skirts and tops. Black sweatshirts and club jackets.
Fees:
Affiliation fee - £25.00 adult/£15.00 junior. Moonraker Netball League Registration Fee - £3.00 per player per season. Training fees - £2.00 adult a week/£1.75 junior. Fees currently being paid are £15.30 per month adults/£12.29 per month juniors/students - these have not been increased for the past three seasons. Every new member is given one week's free session to decide if they want to come on a regular basis.
Commitment:
We expect a high level of commitment from each player and it is important to attend training regularly. Failure to attend a training session may mean that you are not guaranteed to play in the next match.
Team Selection:
Team selection will be based on ability, fitness etc and will be chosen by Frank, our Coach, at the beginning of each playing season ie before September. Frank will also decide upon positioning for each team member and his decision will be final. He will be responsible for making changes throughout the game. In the event that he is not available, it will be the team captain's responsibility to make these decisions. Every team member will be given a second position of their choice, which will increase players' skills and make them more versatile.
Team Captains:
Team captains will be nominated by voting from each team player, the person with the most votes will be deemed captain for that season. It is their responsibility to ensure that all players receive a fixtures list of their matches and to arrange lifts/oranges etc.
Sponsorship:
We will endeavour to find sponsors to ensure that we have funds for team kit etc and also ensure that we have enough balls etc to train with. However, anyone who is able to find sponsorship should do so.
Social Events:
We have several of these throughout the year, the main events being:-
Christmas Meal - usually held at the Limpley Stoke Hotel.
Pontins Netball Weekend - held in May each year.
Other events will be advised as and when they are due to happen via our monthly newsletter.
