Silver Surfers - know your rights

Many local clubs in Holt have recently become involved in Age Concern Wiltshire's new Benefits Take Up Project.  The Holt Women's Institute, Wednesday Lunch Club, Parish Council, local churches, local Post Office, the Holt Superstore and the editor of the parish magazine have all been helping to promote the project within Holt's local community.  The importance of the Benefits Take Up Project is apparent when one realizes that 15,000 Wiltshire pensioners are missing out on claiming benefits.  A lot of these people are missing out because they don't know which benefits they are entitled to claim.  However Age Concern Wiltshire can help, as they have a team of trained volunteers and staff who are all specialists in benefits work.  They can offer free help and advice to anyone who is unsure of their entitlement.  One of the Benefits Take Up project team can also visit you in your home for free, confidential benefits check and then help fill out any necessary forms.  They can even verify financial documents for you, so there is no need to post off bank or building society books.

If you would like a free benefits check please ring Emily, the Benefits Take Up Project Worker on 01380 735500, email her at emily.cole@acwilts.co.uk or drop into the Age Concern Wiltshire's office in the market place Devizes. Emily can then make sure that none of Holt's parishioners are any of the 15, 000 missing out on their slice of the benefits cake!
