A Quick Guide to our services
What are the features of the main Sunday Services at 10am?
Holy Communion: This has many of the familiar parts of the communion
service, but recognizes the importance of the children starting with us before going out to their teaching groups, to return later in the service. We explore different types of music. There are activities for pre-school children throughout.
Service of the Word (All Age Parade Service): This is informal, with interactive learning and readings and prayers. With the uniformed
organizations joining us, this service is aimed at older children, teens and the adults. The music is a gathering together of children and adults into a wonderful orchestra. The children are in church throughout (with special
activities for pre-school children).
Service of the Word: This service seeks to
develop faith amongst adults interactively and informally. Like the Parade service, we use a projector rather than books, but like the communion service the children would go out after the opening worship. The remainder of the service has a teaching/prayer/reflective focus, aimed at adults.
What are the features of the other services?
Holy Communion at 9am: This is a quiet and contemplative, said service using more traditional language.
Family Service (with Baptisms): This is a simple all age service, with all the children staying in for activities and learning. This would be the normal service in which we would expect baptisms to take place.
