Report of Parish Council Meeting 14th April 2004.
The Parish Council welcomed the new WDC Councillor Jamie STARLING to the meeting. He reported that he was working on the situation regarding street lighting on Field Lane. He was asked by Councillors to look at the situation with regards to residents parking in the village, which has been a concern for a long time.
SCC Councillor Tony Andrews advised that works would start again on Green lane on 19th April. Cllr Andrews also updated the meeting on the Traffic Plan and the problems that such plans were facing nationwide. Church Road car park and play area were discussed with regards to the enhancement of both, once the purchase of a proposed piece of land has taken place. The play area will become Parish Council responsibility fro April 2005, and the Council; were offered the opportunity to take over the running of the car park on upgrade. Resolution passed by Council confirming this intention.
This year?s annual inspection of the play area had found various issues of high priority and these have been dealt with.
Resolution passed that WDC would be asked to continue the annual inspections, whilst the Parish Council would do the weekly, monthly and quarterly inspections once training had been received.
No police report was available for the meeting.
Cllr LAWSON updated the meeting on the KCC/KPF meeting that she had attended and advised Councillors of the AGM they are holding on the 7th May.
The Clerk reported that the Parish Plan survey results would be produced with the May edition of the Kessingland Times and a public meeting would be held in June.
The situation regarding Councillor vacancies was again mentioned, as there are still 4 vacancies. Other parishes are to be asked for ideas of how they recruit new members.
The Vice-Chairman reported that a tree, which had been blown down over footpath 11, had now been dealt with and new fencing had been put on the Parish land at Marsh Lane following the recent works that had been carried out there.
The Patient Participation Group had met again regarding the fast response team and it was hopeful that this would come about off the back of the Parish Plan.
The Beach Warden asked Cllr Starling to look at the various signs that were needed in the area before the summer season began in earnest. The meeting was advised that sacral seats needed repairing or repainting.
