Welcome to Langtree

Local History Group

We are starting a new project, with the aim of gathering as many wedding photos a s possible of Langtree people, to not only record people from the Parish, but also show changing fashions, customs, etc.  Either the bride or groom had to be living in the Parish at the time of the marriage, and it doesn't matter how recent or how many years ago the event took place or even if those in the picture are still alive.  We are interested in weddings which have taken place at All Saints' Church, Siloam and Stibb Cross Chapels (both now closed), or Zion Chapel.  If you were married in a church or chapel in another Parish, in a Registry Office, or one of the many other venues now used for marriages, but one of you lived in Langtree at the time, please consider letting us copy one of your pictures for our collection.

We might also consider a separate section for people who have moved into the Parish but would like their wedding picture included; just tell us where and when it happened, and when you moved into the Parish.  We would like the names of bride and groom, parents (if possible), and date and place of the wedding.  Added information - bridesmaids, best man, pageboys, etc, - would be most welcome to help build the wider picture of life in Langtree.
