The Village of Ashley
Ashley (or Ashley cum Silverley to give it its full name)is located about 5 miles to the North East of Newmarket on the road to Clare. It has a population of about 550 and is served by a village shop cum post office, a public house and a good restaurant.
A large recreation ground with a childrens play area and pavilion (which also doubles as a village hall) will be found on the outskirts of the village in the High Street.
The village is surrounded by agriculture or stud land with many pretty walks along the public footpaths. The centre of the village has a pond, called The Wavier pond which currently has a large population of ducks and gold fish!
A reasonable bus service operates to Newmarket, Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds
