Parish Council News, Sept 07
Flooding in Baldon Lane: The Council met with an official from Thames Water regarding the situation who confirmed that the pipes to the pump were working correctly and that the pump itself needed upgrading to cope with the extra demand during heavy rain. All residents are encouraged to send in a complaint each time the road floods.
Fireworks and Bonfire Night, Saturday 3rd November: Arrangements are going ahead and this event should prove to be a great time. The committee is hoping to arrange for villagers and visitors to be able to make contributions to this rather expensive event.
Replacement Ancient Oak Tree, Back of the Croft and on Footpath No. 2 MB: It is hope that a replacement can be made due to the unfortunate demise of this very old tree, so loved by the residents. Negotiations are at present continuing.
Traffic Problems in the Croft: Most who use the Croft will have noticed the additional road safety sign installed at the Parish Council's instigation. However, after further discussion with neighbours David Turner, County Councillor, is going to try to have the whole of the Baldons' road system reappraised, which will include the dangerous bend at the sound end of the Croft.
Next Parish Council Meeting: Tuesday 13th November 2007 in the Baldons' Village Hall.
