CD56 GUILDHALL
(a) Repair and Renovation Works
Members read a written report from the Property Manager regarding checks on the Guildhall completed works, to ensure everything has been completed to a high standard. The Property Manager said that after continual problems with the lift this had been rectified. Members noted that Team Services would be returning in the week to replace two parts in the heating system, in the meantime the heating system works, but not as efficiently as it should. Members were also informed that because of the recent heavy rain, water had been cascading down the right hand side of the Guildhall entrance wall. The contractors investigated this problem and found leaves had been blocking the hopper head and wiring was placed to stop further blockages. The Clerk told the Committee that there had been some cracked slates on the roof, but this issue had since been resolved.
Members also noted that there is a period of 6 months, where the Town Council will retain 2.5% of the final costings to the contractors, to ensure that all works have been carried out to the satisfaction of the Council and there are no additional repairs that need to be carried out in that time.
It was RESOLVED that the report be noted &n |
