IT WAS RESOLVED to RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

B. WD/2006/2461/F

AMBER COTTAGE, RIPE

Creation of hardstanding for a car in the front garden, widening of gateway and provision of disabled access

The Committee felt that the destruction of part of the brick wall, and "suburbanisation" of the front gardens in the Conservation Area should be resisted.

IT WAS RESOLVED to RECOMMEND REFUSAL.

                             C.  WD/2006/3578/F

                        CHURCH FARM, ECKINGTON CORNER, RIPE

Installation of 20m monopole telecommunications mast with three antennas and three equipment cabinets within a fenced 7.2m x 5.3m compound

The Planning Committee asked the agents representing the applicant and landowner a series of questions regarding the process by which the Parish Council had not been consulted on the application as required by PPG8 at an earlier stage.  The applicants responded that Wealden had assigned this a "green traffic light rating" which was felt to obviate the need for local consultation.  The agents admitted that they had overlooked the nursery school in the Village Hall.  The agents explained this site was chosen because it offers coverage to the south (which would not be reached by a mast at Brickhurst Farm where other masts are located) and it covers the inside of buildings in Ripe and the surrounding lanes.   They did consider a site further down the bridleway, but the land falls away and a higher mast would have been needed.

IT WAS RESOLVED to DEFER to the FULL PARISH COUNCIL.
