Parish Emergency Plan
EMERGENCY PLANNING FOR RIPE AND CHALVINGTON
- The aim of the emergency plan is to enable the community to provide a coordinated response to an emergency incident, support the emergency services and other responding agencies and assist in promoting recovery.
- The Emergency Plan for Ripe and Chalvington is designed to be a simple tool to enable the community to commence a response to an emergency within the Parish, pending support from the Emergency Services.
- A list of local residents, their address, contact number and location has been produced. The Emergency officer holds this confidential list.
- A contact sheet has been produced, detailing the names and contact details of the Emergency Committee, Parish Council Members, District & County Council, Village Hall Key Holders, Police, Neighbouring Councils and people with resource skills. Key people in the community who may need this information in an emergency are holding this.
- A risk analysis of various types of emergency has been produced.
- A CB radio has been provided by Wealden District Council, which is installed in the Emergency officers residence for use should all other methods of communication with the emergency services fail.
We are currently in the process of producing lists of elderly or vulnerable people who may have special needs in case of an emergency, together with community resources that could be called upon in an emergency. Anyone who feels they may be able to assist in the completion of this list, should please contact the Emergency Officer on 01323 811680.
