    Hello.

I feel that the traffic driving through Rampton is getting faster and faster.

Ways to prevent it...no to those give way to oncoming traffic points like in Over or Oakington...it encourages silly moves and extra pollution.

Road humps are good but arn't good for the car...

the flashing speed signs are good to remind drivers to slow down to 30...which some do but most dont!!

Maybe a couple of road humps near the Green, pub and garage where most people activity happens?

Most of the big goods lorries seem to drive at 25mph which is good as when they drive through Church End it creates a wind vacuum/vortex that sometimes shakes the house...it seem to be more noticible in the summer when the trees have leaves on...Church End is more like a tunnel then. There are some lorries that seem to go faster than others on occassion.

There's probably not much that the council can do as we don't have accidents?

Vanessa is correct i think that a couple of speed bumps just before the garage and just after the pub would help and if constructed correctly would work ok and generally the ones in cottenham are fine if driven over at the correct speed. The method used in Swavesy and Willingham of giving way are a waste of time. About eight years ago we were given the chance of having lots of calming which was too much and proposed by the company carrying out the work and some residents were worried about more pollution as cars negotiated them. The result was nothing being done and the budget ran out. The flashing signs are a complete waste of money and traffic is increasing quite rapidly. The pub getting busy is good for traffic calming as people park in the road and so cars have to slow to overtake them People that do not have to cross the road on foot as i do dog walking or going to the pub do not really appreciate how difficult its becoming to cross it and as Vanessa points out the change of a camera is nil as no one is hurt or killed. Not yet at least
