My biggest pet peeve since I moved here is people parking on the pavement. I don't mind if the wheels are up on the curb to leave some space on the road, but some people are just plain inconsiderate. This evening I was forced to walk on the road on a blind bend with my dogs because a car blocked the whole path. Imagine if I had kids, a pushchair or was in an invalid buggy. Part of the problem is that these days it is common for households to have more than one car, plus the popularity of converting one's garage into another room and people's unruly gardens spilling over onto the public byways. Why not get rid of public footpaths altogether, converting them all into parking areas and forcing all pedestrians should walk on the roads from now on. Does this bother anyone else? Does anyone have any solutions?
