Creating a Community Feel through The Local Channel

Never one to sit back and hope things will happen naturally - The Local Channel is here to assist and be of service to everyone in all communities across the UK regardless of their role or position in the community.

For those of you who are new to The Local channel (TLC) we hope that you will use this means to communicate and express opinion - have a say in matters that surround us. In doing so you may even assist in a change for the better. For those of you already familiar with TLC we hope that you will assist us and help nurture interaction with the site. With the forthcoming features we are adding shortly you can always interact with us direct to advise us as to the benefit it brings you or even if we have got it wrong so we can make a change too...it's your community and your Local Channel after all.

    Regards

    TLC Support

It would be a real help if after three and a half years you would get your parish details sorted out.  I have lost count of the number of times I have contacted you and brought to your attention the fact that Herefordshire split from Worcestershire in 1998.  I cannot encourage buisnesses to use your site or nurture interaction with it when you register the site and them as being in Hereford & Worcester!  When oh when will you do something about it.

    Regards

Many thanks for your posting here in the TLC forum. We acknowledge your frustration with regard to what you perceive to be our lack of progress on this matter.

Without entering into a long explanation in the forum, we want to assure you that numerous changes made within the geo and postzon data have given us a headache here at TLC too. What in isolation one may see as being a simple change is overall, a monumental task to the existing data structures. Work is already underway as part of our system infrastructure change to remedy the problem as a whole - a point we did raise awareness to in a recent newsletter update.

We would like to add to that that when you first pointed this error out we were not in a position to make the changes you suggested and certainly not as quick as we would have liked ourselves.

However, we would like to discuss this matter directly with you and will make arrangements to speak to you on this point. In the meantime we have taken the necessary steps to make this change in isolation and we hope that you will find this acceptable.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the long overdue response in rectifying the matter as a whole but be assured the work currently underway does address the overall matter of postzon changes to parish boundaries together with the repositioning of counties and UA's.

We will also be providing a further update on the site and via the regular monthly newsletters

    Kind regards

We have now split Hereford and Worcestershire up into two separate entities, with Worcestershire being a county and Herefordshire being a Unitary Authority.
