Welcome to the new Pentons Chat Forum - an experiment to see if there's anyone out there...

What’s the hot topic where you live? We all have burning issues, a question to ask or a solution to offer. But how can you get or give help or have a discussion when there’s no one around? Everything in our community from street lights to gardening can be discussed on our community “Chat” forum. All you have to do is register on-line and sign-in. You can join an existing topic or start one of your own. If you prefer, you can always just have a private chat with a Parish Councillor - see "Council" on this website.

The hot topic is of course the Tesco "Mega-shed" proposal for Andover Airfield.  The deadline for responses to Test Valley Borough Council has been extended to August 27th (Bank Holiday!).  You can find all the details and make your response direct by going to the TVBC website (see Links on this site)

You mentioned links from this site, however there are no links in this thread.  I only live about 10 minutes away from there so am interested in any developments.

The proposed "mega shed"........Yes for sure it will be an eyesore as are all large buildings  built in such a beautiful county ! but is it not true that the general public have to take responsibility . Bring back the corner shop half day closing on a wednesday and no Sunday shopping.... and wait for the outrage from those who work long hours and  are seemingly unable to shop within these opening hours....no need for mega storage, less lorries on the roads, we all take full advantage of the superstores with buy one get one free offers etc., which necessitates huge containers having to replenish the superstore shelves at such a rate ! one would think a swarm of hungry locusts had robbed us of our last chance of a meal judging by the queues " roll on Christmas " !!!!!! .....I do wonder just how many angry protesters take advantage of 24/7 shopping and how many of them complain about the traffic congestion etc., we cant please all of the people all of the time I guess....
