    Is there anybody there?

Is there anybody there? why do I ask? well we seem to be slow in getting debates and discussions going.

New to forums? Don't be shy get posting.

'I'm quite sure you have got something to say.

Have you got a problem where you stay and nothing seems to get done about it? Lets hear about it.

    Dog fouling, Litter, noise etc.

Or if your town is great lets hear about, don't keep it to yourself share.

Lets get these forums moving with some nice debates and discussions going.

It has been quite slow on the take up but give it time and people will start to use these forums.

It's all about publicising the forums to the people within the community.  Within East Tytherley I am looking to publicise them through the local parish newsletter which covers the surrounding 5 parishes.

I will also be mentioning it different groups around the villages as well so that they can use it to discuss matters arising with other members of the community.  For example we are looking at getting a children's play area and public picnic area built within the village and the viewpoints of the community will be needed in throughout the development.

I am getting very frustrated which my wife will tell you means trouble for someone!!!

I rang Malvern Town Council this morning regarding an ongoing problem at 9.17am

and got the message that the office hours are 9-5.

    No wonder I'm getting nowhere.

    Hi David

Unfortunately Osmotherley North Yorkshire Parish Council aren't using their site on The Local Channel and I can't find another site but I have managed to find a newsletter and there is an email address so you could try this: os.messenger@googlemail.com

    Good luck!

    Dried,

You could try the pub http://www.goldenlionosmotherley.co.uk/ Someone is bound to have something to say. Don't know the place myself, I'm a Lancastrian based in Bristol, but I've found this approach useful in other matters.

Regards to you, and to Canada,

Re: Is there anybody there? Maiden Newton

I am here and most annoyed at the motorbikes on the public footpaths and bridleways in Maiden Newton every weekend.  I have contacted the local council and the police to no avail.  Is nobody else going to stand up for the peace and quiet of this village?  Others I have spoken to say, "Oh, don't get involved or they may attack your property."   This attitude is why yobs think they can get away with it.  I am fed up with these bikes: the noise, they danger they pose to dogs, horses, children and pedestrians - and the lack of respect for our beautiful countryside,  This past weekend they have been most defiant because I challenged them about it on the Friday.  On Saturday they returned to make as much noise on the footpath across the fields as possible.

    Re: Is there anybody there?

    Hello David,

I hope by now someone will have been in touch with you re. Osmotherley, which is in the Cleveland Hills of North Yorkshire. The beautiful Mount Grace Priory is there, administered by the National Trust. I only went there once a few years ago, but would love to visit again. Northallerton is the nearest town. Thirsk is to the south and Stockton on Tees, Darlington and Middlesborough are to the North  -  these last three, in contrast to the other rural areas, are industrial towns full of historical interest and attractively modernised. Try the Tourist Information sites for any of the towns I mentioned e.g. type in, Northallerton UK Tourist Information Centre or North Yorkshire TIC. Good luck!

I saw your request for information while looking for a place in Gloucestershire.  This is my first visit to this site, so hope you have had rreplies apart from this belated one.
