There have been numerous accidents at the Stenson Road/Wragley Way junction. This is mainly because of the speed that cars approach over the A50 bridge and also poor visibility from Wragley Way towards Derby. The parish council have asked for a roundabout to be put here but the request has been refused. It has been suggested that the hedge on the rural side of Stenson Road hinders visibility and whilst the parish council does not agree with the wholesale destruction of hedges, the safety of its parishioners must come first. Has anybody had an accident or near miss here? Does anyone have any suggestions for improvement? If so let us know here on this forum.
There are presently some roadworks at this junction making it even more treacherous, however it seems that the hedge on the rural side has been trimmed, so visibility should be improved once the roadworks are gone.
