Local Councils

Every parish, town, ward and community council in the UK ALREADY has a web site within The Local Channel’s UK-wide network. To find yours - just enter your community’s name (or post code) into the search box’s on the home page by clicking here.

It costs the local council nothing to use their Local Channel site. It’s not only free, it’s also easy to use; and we provide a friendly free-phone help line (should it be needed).

Many Councils across the UK are already using their Local Channel site to share information with their communities – for example, agendas and minutes of meetings; profiles and contact details of councillors; community notices; and planning applications.

A Local Channel web site also helps a parish to obtain “Quality Parish” status.

A new feature is “chat” – a forum which connects local people to each other. A local council can use this to ask for (and receive!) local opinions.

It’s easy for a council to start – just call us on 0800 38 986 38 (Mon to Fri, 8.00 to 6.00), email us at info@thelocalchannel.co.uk or fill in the online adoption form to take up your community website with The Local Channel by clicking here.
