Eileen was born in Sunderland and spent most of her working life there as a comptometer operator then clerical posts after decimalisation meant the use of calculators.  Moved to Easington from Peterlee in 1963 and has become very involved with village life.  While her three children were growing up helped run Roundabout the childrens section of Save the Children and with her husband John ran the Community Association Youth Club for over 10 years.

Became more involved with village life when she joined the newly formed Easington Village Residents Association and as Secretary helped organise the Easington Village Fair for many years.  She became a Councillor when the two parishes of Easington split into two a Village and a Colliery parish. Hobbies are local and family history, computing and digital photography, reading and gardening.  I work on a part time basis as reporter for Easington and Peterlee in the Sunderland Echo Down your Way section giving news and events.
