SEATON HOLME LONG GALLERY A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AND LOSS TO THE MANY VISITORS FROM NEAR & FAR.
THE DISCOVERY CENTRE ON A 20 YEAR LEASE TO GROUNDWORK EAST DURHAM CLOSED IN DECEMBER 2006 HAS BEEN CONVERTED INTO OFFICES. NOT WHAT THE PARISH COUNCIL ENVISAGED WHEN WE LEASED THE ROOM TO GROUNDWORK TRUST IN 1990 BUT A CLAUSE IN THE LEASE PREVENTS ANY DISPUTE.
A BIG THANKYOU TO THE BAND OF VOLUNTEERS WHO KEPT THE CENTRE RUNNING.
