The land fronting Railway Terrace and Gwendoline Street, Blaengarw is to be turned into a parkland consistIing of pathways, flowerbeds, broadleaf trees, shrubberies, tables and benches. The Garw Valley Community Council is negotiating to raise £250,000.00 pounds in order to complete 51.06 Cydcoed Bid Update The Clerk referred to the Minutes of the Cydcoed Sub-Committee Meeting held on the 28th June 2005 and informed Members of the following developments: - An outline planning application has been prepared by Groundwork and submitted to Bridgend CBC; this application contains specific details as to planting & designs. There is a general belief that full planning will not be required! ?Scruffs?, is currently negotiating the engineering side of matters with Bridgend CBC. As for the proposed ten percent charge on net profits (terms of leasing arrangements) the company has suggested that five percent would be more realistic and beneficial. The Angling Society has requested a meeting with the Cydcoed Sub-Committee in order to discuss the future control of the lakes including the supply of bailiffs, daily and weekly charges and maintenance. Cydcoed has been kept informed of all developments and anticipate a September 2005 start date for the proposed development. The Clerk also informed the meeting that he had this day, outlined the Cydcoed/Upper Garw Development, to members of the Garw Valley Regeneration Steering Committee.
