GREAT BRICKHILL GOOD COMPANIONS Have you retired? Are you 50 or over? Would you like to meet more people or make new friends? Then why not come along to our Good Companions meetings which are held every other Wednesday afternoon, except for August, in the Parish Hall.
We have a speaker at most of the meetings, some highly entertaining, some serious and some informative. When there is no speaker, we keep our brains active with quizzes of various sorts and occasionally enjoy a game of Bingo. The meetings end with a cup of tea and biscuits and the chance to chat. To raise funds, we have a Bring and Buy sale in January and again in September. We try to have two outings during the year, plus a garden tea in July and a Christmas lunch to end the year.
Most of our members live in the village or have village connections but we welcome visitors to our meetings, wherever they are from. The annual subscription is £5 and visitors pay £2 per meeting.
We still have some very good speakers to come in the Autumn, including Sir Philip Duncombe telling us about his duties at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth and Mr. Clarke from Aylesbury, talking about his year as Master of the Clockmakers' Guild. If you would like more information on these, or would like to become a member, please contact Jean Griffiths on 01525 261582.
