Great Coxwell is a small village nestling into the side of the hill below Badbury Woods and on the side of the town of Faringdon. Its history dates back over 2000 years and it is blessed by a church dating back to the 12th century and a magnificient Tithe Barn. It has lost its pub, village school and post office but it is a village that is still vibrant and loved by all who live there. It has a great sense of community with the village getting together at local events, the "drop-in centre" at the Reading Room or through other groups such as the Women's Institute. Visitors not only venture in to the village to visit the Tithe Barn and the Medieval Church but to follow some of the glorious footpaths that traverse through and round the area.
