Ann has lived in Markbeech since 1959 and has been involved in local activities ever since, including running the Markbeech Nursery School for 40 years. She became a Parish Councillor representing the Hever Ward in 1995 and  was elected to Chairman of the Council in May 2008.As well as being a Member of the Hever Planning Sub-committee. She is also a Governor of Hever School and a member of the Management Committee of Markbeech Village Hall. Ann was awarded the MBE in the 2007 New Year's Honours List in recognition of her public service and charity work.
