Hilderstone is in Staffordshire, situate on the B5066, approximately 4 miles from the centre of Stone and 12 miles from Uttoxeter. The village is set in rolling countryside and still retains much of its original character. The village dates back to 670 AD, and signs of strip and terrace system of farming are still clearly evident today. There are two references to the village in the Doomsday Book, when it was known as Heldulvestone. We have a fine church, designed by Thomas Trubshaw an architect from Colwich, a village hall, recently extended and refurbished, and a lovely old pub!
