Minutes of meeting of Letham & District Community Council held on Monday 17 August, 2009, 7.30pm, Letham primary School Present: Angus Watson (chairman) Isobel Sword (secretary) Rae Smith (treasurer) Dennis Towns, Gordon Mitchell (planning) Apologies Julie Wright, PC Kevin Neave Also Present: Councillor David Lumgair
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting, Approval of minutes of previous Meeting. Proposed by Dennis Towns, seconded Gordon Mitchell
1. Matters Arising

Road /traffic issues current; - Hillend junction legal issues resolved - start date of work to be announced
· Vinney Den Footbridge Official opening Friday 11 September 7pm Jim Cosgrove to perform opening ceremony Secretary to make arrangements - refreshments & press
Purchase of IT equipment for use of Community Councils approved - communication regarding process Received - laptop to be arranged Suggestion that external hard drive also be purchased
2. Correspondence received - Outline erection of house, 7 Braehead Rd
Letter 1. Application withdrawn Letter 2. Re application - Roads Department / planning to put in provision that the road up to the plot be brought up to standard before building. - Draft Revised Scheme of Community Councils
Information available in Community Book shop (has been read by one member of public!) Email received from Bill Strachen - forwarded to all members - Alternatives - to continue current membership under current system until 2010, then election under new system
- Hold election soon, under current system.

Any Other Business Pharmacy A licence for a pharmacy in the village has been granted - should open before Christmas An email from Nouras Al-Alwai received giving thanks for the help and support Health Provision - Jubilee Court Start date still not announced Village SOS Letham Feuars' Committee & Plasmill Renewed have submitted an application to Village SOS (Lottery & BBC initiative) Letham Park A suggestion made that the office bearers of the Community Council become the signaturies of the account of the former Park improvement group (over £1000 remains in the account) Mobile Cinema The possibility of using the mobile Cinema provision discussed - cost of licence etc prohibitive
