Parish Notice Board
Dear Parish Council,
As you may be aware the above mentioned route has changed a lot in
recent times due to difficulties in finding a bus company to operate the
service at a justifiable cost to the County Council. The current
contract with Norfolk Green will finish 11 April 2007. The only way a
bus can be provided is to fit in with school times at Downham Market
High School (otherwise the cost increases yet further) and we need to
allow a good 3 hours in Norwich for shopping. This means we have to
reduce the route and journey time and the only way this can be done is
to withdraw the service from Beachamwell on the basis of low passenger
numbers from here. We are sorry about this, but there does not seem to
be any other way of providing a service.
Please be advised that this service will operate on monthly basis
starting 2 May 2007, it will then operate 6 June, 4 July and 1 August.
Initially this will be done on a trial basis.
The new operator for this service will be Eagles Coaches and they can be
contacted on 01760 755641. Please also find copy of new timetable
attached.
