What is The Community Council
Mathern Community Council is the grass roots voice of local government for Mathern, Mounton and Pwllmeyric and comprises nine local councillors elected For four years. Councillor Carolyn Ovenden Councillor David Merrett Councillor David Harris Councillor Christine Morton Councillor Justin Gittins Councillor Martin Mc Hugh Councillor Nina Bailey Councillor Chris Hughes Councillor Frank Sainsbury The Community is represented on Monmouthshire County Council by County Councillor Graham Down. Each year the council raises a "precept" on the council tax payers to cover the cost of running expenses and services provided.
