HOW TO FIND OTTERHEAD ESTATE AND LAKES
The Estate is easily accessable from three local through roads: Taunton - Trull - Blagdon Hill - Churchinford - Upottery - Rawridge - A30T - Monkton - Honiton. Taunton - Trull - Blagdon Hill - Smeatharpe - Honiton. Taunton - B3170 - Corfe - Stopgate A303T - A30T - Monkton - Honiton. The last listed is probably the easiest for first time visitors to use. From Taunton: take B3170 and drive carefully through Corfe and after climbing the hill a double bend with a recommended 40mph speed limit is reached, take the first right (signed for Otterford Church) a single track road; bear right at triangular junction and car park entrance is on left just before the old Estate Lodge. If the County Boundary with Devon is reached, you will have missed the turn.
From Honiton: Take the A30T and drive carefully through Monkton; keep to the main road (the A303T) where the A30 turns right for Chard; turn left onto the B3170 (signed Taunton) just beyond a closed filling station on the left; after the Somerset County Boundary sign drive through two crossroads and take the next turning on left (signed Otterford Church) a single track road; bear right at a triangular junction and the car park is on the left just before the old Estate Lodge. If a double bend with an advisory 40mph speed limit is reached, you will have missed the turning.
(Please note that the old Estate Lodge is privately owned and is not part of the Otterhead Estate Trust Company Ltd.'s lease).
